In fact, even his backyard pool is equipped with artificial waves.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zuckerberg claims that surfing in the morning every day helps him deal with the pressures of work and helps him with creative thinking. He would read his emails first to absorb any bad or good news coming his way and then off to the waves. This way, he said, work is easier to dive into, especially after reading the emails, which is \u201calmost like getting punched with a ton of new context.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CEO is known to enjoy riding the foilboard, which lifts the rider above the surface of the water, resulting in faster speeds and higher maneuverability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhen you\u2019re on the board, you\u2019re focused on making sure you stay on the board and don\u2019t mess something up,\u201d he said on <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/03\/31\/why-mark-zuckerberg-tries-to-surf-every-day\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Tim Ferriss Show<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zuckerberg has been an avid surfer since he was a child, growing up in Dobbs Ferry, New York, where the Hudson River offers good surfing opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Facebook founder continued to be an avid surfer well into his adulthood and is known to surf the waters off Maui, where he and his wife, Priscilla Chan, acquired a 700-acre estate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Popular social media figure&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>And there is plenty of evidence of Zuckerberg enjoying the sport on social media. One time, he was filmed holding the American flag while riding a foil board, complete with the John Denver song \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=klLpc3JsHq4\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Take Me Home, Country Roads<\/a>\u201d playing in the background. While a good sunblock is needed to protect yourself from the sun, he claimed that he did it to disguise himself from a paparazzi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A video of Zuckerberg surfing in Lake Tahoe also received a lot of comments from the netizen, both flattering and not-so-flattering. Many described his technique as being awkward and atrocious, with some comparing him to a \u201cdrunk aunt on the wedding floor\u201d and \u201cthe great flamingo.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whatever flak he is receiving for his surfing skills, one thing is clear, and that is, he adores the sport and is a great fan of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Charitable Works&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Zuckerberg has donated $1 million to the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.surfrider.org\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Surfrider Foundation<\/a>, which is a non-profit organization whose main objective is to protect the world\u2019s oceans and preserve beaches and surfing spots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As an avid surfer, the controversial Zuckerberg ultimately promotes the sport as a great endeavor.
